RCMP Musical Ride @ Interlakes, BC

For a number of years I have hoped that my path would cross with the RCMP Musical Ride as I have been wanting to create a series of paintings featuring the horses and riders.  I was delighted when I discovered that  this travelling show would be in my area this summer.

The Musical Ride of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police is a formal event showcasing the equestrian skills performed by 32 cavalry who are regular members of the force. The event is held in Canada and worldwide to promote the RCMP.

The RCMP Musical Ride was featured as an intermission show during the 27th Annual Interlakes Rodeo on July 22nd, 2018 and I was at the show capturing photographs that I will translate into paintings.   Art Equidae was kindly sponsored by Crystal Waters Quarter Horses, who helped to organise the event.  I would like to thank Crystal Waters Quarter Horses for this opportunity.

It was  interesting to have the chance to talk with some of the riders who participated in the show and learn about the horses and their training regiment.  I am inspired to go to the Ride Centre in Ottawa to see the headquarters.

Move to The Cariboo

April 5, 2017

For the past two  years my time has been focused primarily  working within Greater Vancouver's dynamic art world, at galleries and art fairs.   My time spent working with aspiring and established artists has been extremely enriching, and I learned a great deal from renowned gallery owners and mentors within the field.

In early April, 2018,  I moved my studio to The Cariboo Regional District, in the heart of beautiful British Columbia where I will once again be focusing primarily on work in my art studio, going on photography tours, and developing my business.

I look forward to sharing my new creations with you.
